Barbara A. Ulircuis
Ulircuis, Barbara Ann, (nee Bowen) of Mayfair passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the age of 80.
Beloved wife of William M. Ulircuis, devoted mother to Patricia A. (Jim) Mallon and Michael W. Ulircuis. Loving Grandmom of Kelly (Chris) Neeld, Katie Mallon, and Gwyn & Violet Ulircuis. Dear sister of Richard (Liz) Bowen and the late Joseph (Anna May) Bowen & James Bowen. Barbara will be missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and dear friends.
Barbara was a loving wife and mother and created a home filled with lots of love and happy memories. She was an avid reader, always loved to travel, and could never pass up a good bargain. She especially loved being a Grandmom, and what a fun Grandmom she was! She had a special flare for making up stories and silly songs to entertain her granddaughters. Her creativity made these stories believable and keep us laughing ’til this day. She was loved by everyone who knew her and we are all better for having known her.
Due to the current health crisis, services will be private. A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held at a later date. An announcement will be made once our world is safe again. In the meantime, let’s all be a kind and gentle person like Barbara.
When I was young and my parents would say Billie and Barbara were coming over to our house to visit, I could always expect a good time. Lots of drinking by the parents, much laughter, discussion, and food and fun. Here’s to the memories, Barbara. My deepest condolences to Billy and all of the family. I was so sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. It had been far too long since we had seen Bill and Barbara, but we always enjoyed their company. Barbara was such a lively and funny person and I know she will be missed by all her knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill, Patty and Michael and their families at this very difficult time. We wish we could be there to offer our love and support. We will look forward to being able to attend her Celebration of Life.

I was very sad to learn last week that Barbara suddenly passed away. Although I spent a great deal more time as a youngster in the company of Barbara and Bill at gatherings along with my family, over the years as I grew older, whenever we saw each other I always felt as though I could pick up with Barbara where we left off. She was so nice to talk with and I remember her bright smile, the twinkle in her eyes, and how ready she always was to display wonderful family photos that she carried and which I always enjoyed seeing. Our very deepest condolences to Billy, to Pat and Michael, and their families. Mary (Bachensky) Scully and John Scully (in Cary, North Carolina).
