After retirement he loved his work so much that he returned back as a rehire. At work he was known as “DOC”. He was a good husband, father, son and brother and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was the sports encyclopedia….no matter the question he could answer it, or make sure he’d find the answer. Loved all sports, not too keen on Phillies (a way to antagonize his brother George) but all in all I secretly know he enjoyed them too.
All his troubles are over now. He can rest in peace knowing he did a good job. It is us, those who are still here, who will miss him the most…. specially me and Pete, who keeps going to his room looking for him when we go to bed. I am glad his “Mom” finally opened that door and welcomed him home….just remember Don when my time comes you’d better greet me and let me sit by your side to join the BIG WELCOME HOME part….which I know is going on….say “hello” to everyone for me. Later on, we will get together to honor Don.
Judy and DJ I’m so very sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. This has to be exceptionally difficult at a time like this.

Don was, is a great man. Who says greatness stops at the end of this life. Not me! Always kind, always a gentle man. I will miss hearing his stories, miss his “Hey Janie” when I walked in the house. Miss him sitting at the end of the table at holiday meals. He overcame many things in his life and almost reached 92 years old.
Judy, you kept this man going with your years of attention. and love!
I hope the memories and love you shared give you some measure of comfort now. Love you and DJ.
The world has lost a legend! Don taught so many people over his career and life. He was always willing to share his vast knowledge and skills, usually with a funny story. I’m so happy that I was able to work with Doc, he truly made the world a better place. ❤️

Doc was truly one-of-a-kind at the Corps of Engineers ! If you hadn’t been pranked by Don in your time at the Corps, something was wrong with you !! So sad to hear of his passing, he will always represent some of my fondest memories of my years at the Phila. District. May God bless Don and his family.
WISHING HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN…..he would be 92. Love you Don…celebrate!
It’s been a year. Still miss you everyday.
The Phils aren’t hitting right now but all is well because no one in the league is.
The Sixers might win the NBA championship soon.
Flyers and Eagles not so much.
Would love to be able to talk to you. Love you Dad
