Elizabeth A. Graff
Betty Graff died peacefully at home on October 1st, 2018 at the age of 92. Betty was born on December 12, 1925 in Philadelphia to Theresa Michl Altmann and George E. Altmann. Betty had a long career with the School District of Philadelphia as a Secretary, Non-teaching assistant and finally as a Special Education teacher. She spent most of her career at Abraham Lincoln High School. Betty was proceeded in death by her husband Joseph R. Graff and brother Ernest Altmann and her beloved dog, Yukon. Betty graduated from Temple University at the age of 47 and went on to receive her Master’s degree from Arcadia University. She was a member of Old Saint George’s Methodist Church and sang with the Senior Choir at Our Lady of Consolation, as well as volunteer tutoring adults in English as a second language. Betty’s happiest days were spent on vacations with her family. Betty is survived by her daughter Michele Graff Lecker, her son Michael Joseph Graff and their spouses Frederick Lecker and Michelle Graff, granddaughters: Christina Lecker and husband Harry Smith, Alison Lecker, Jennifer Graff Cavanaugh & husband Joseph, and grandson, Michael Joseph Graff, Jr. Special thanks to the wonderful family, friends and caregivers who provided the tender loving care & support over the years: Michelle Graff, Colleen Thomas, Becky Davis & family, Brit Buchanan, Alice Ferry and Heartland Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to Betty’s Memorial Service on Saturday, October 13th at 12 Noon.
