Friel, Ruth D. (nee) Wirsu (Oct. 16, 2018). Beloved wife of Edward J. Friel. Loving sister of Carol A. (Wm. P.) Garwood & Mary E. (Patrick Byrne) Pizzola. Will be sadly missed by her dearest and faithful friend Lauren R. Steidel, also survived by her nieces & nephews, Jeffrey (Theresa), Diana, Nick, Matt (Heather) & Joe (Jenna) & great nieces Nicole & Paige Lii. Relatives & friends are invited to her memorial service Monday 1 P.M., Saints United Lutheran Church, 3200 Ryan Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136, where friends may call Monday 12 noon-1:00 P.M. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to ALS Hope Foundation, P.O. Box 40777, Phila., PA 19107 or to a pet charity of your choice.

I worked with Ruth at Gyn Lankenau. I don’t think I’ve ever known a sweeter woman in my life. I will miss Ruth and hope that I meet her again one day. So sad that she is gone.
