Walter J. Gentner
Gentner, Walter John, “Walt”, Age 80. Formerly of Fair Acres, Passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019. He graduated at Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1957. Walt’s talent was as a book binder at Oxford Bookbinding Company for many years (Retired). He is survived by his wife Peggy Lou Heilman. Father of Walter J. Gentner III, Debora A. (Thomas J) Hulme, and Kathleen M. (Jacinda Quigley) Gentner. Stepfather to Debbie Heilman, Susan (David) Heilman-Wurst, Robert “Ronnie” (Barbara) Heilman. He will also be missed by his 12 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Walt’s Visitation Friday September 27th 10 – 11am at St Phillips Church for the Deaf, 3101 Tyson Ave (at Hawthorne St.) where his Funeral Service will follow at 11am. Interment Northwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Walt’s name may be made to Debora Hulme, 9325 Academy Rd. Philadelphia, PA. 19114 or St.Phillips Church for the Deaf, 3101 Tyson Ave. Philadelphia, PA. 19149. Money donations/contributions in Walt’s name may be made to Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 100 W. School House Ln., Philadelphia, PA 19144.
What a beautiful soul!I am so sorry for your loss, he will always be Walter’s Dad, so sweet, funny. His eyes twinkle when he laughed, which was often. I miss him very much! My deepest sympathies.
