Claire was an active, fun-loving 89 year old. With a zest for life, her calendar was always full. This was not out of obligation, but because she truly loved people and the joy of shared moments. Claire enjoyed traveling and had a love of animals, especially her toy poodles. She loved her family and insisted on hosting Thanksgiving dinners. Christmas was her favorite time of year. During the summer months, you could find Claire enjoying the sun and relaxing in a pool. Claire had a wonderful sense of humor and would never turn down a Bloody Mary with extra olives – hold the horseradish!
Claire was an active member of her church. She was the secretary of the Pennypack Seniors Club and enjoyed arranging all their excursions. Additionally, she was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church Seniors and organized their trips. Claire was a Judge of Elections in her Philadelphia voting district for many years.
Most of all, Claire loved people. She taught us to be kind, curious and to live life with an open heart. We will greatly miss her laugh, hugs and the way she could make anywhere feel like home. Claire was mom to everyone.
