McClenahan, Joyce E. (August 8, 2019). Age 78. Lifetime partner of M. Jacqueline Carr. Sister of the late Marie (Joseph) Bussmann. Loving aunt to Amy Ruth (Jim Schickling) Bussmann and Joey (Patty) Bussmann, Great aunt to Bobby, Ava, Trey, and Patrick. Joyce was a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School Class of 1959. Faithful employee at General Accident Insurance for 39 years. Joyce was an avid reader and an animal lover, most especially her cats. Joyce had a quick wit and enjoyed making people laugh. Relatives and friends are invited to Joyce’s Visitation Thursday 8/ 15, 9:30 to 11am Mannal Funeral Home, 6925 Frankford Ave (at Tyson) where her funeral service will follow 11am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Joyce’s name may be made to the Pennsylvania SPCA, 350 E. Erie Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134-9987
I remember Joyce with great affection. At family gatherings I always looked forward to our conversations and her quiet but deadly humor. And playing board games after dinner or going to the bakery in Ocean City. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to spend time together when she was well. Her generosity and compassion will never be forgotten.
