Michael G. Walls
Michael G. Walls, age 68, of Philadelphia, PA Michael was born in Philadelphia to George and RoseMarie Walls on June 26, 1955. He is a devoted husband of Hope (nee Banks) and loving father to 3 daughters, Michelle, Elizabeth, and Rachel Walls. He will also be missed by his 8 grandchildren (Amir, Elijah, Sophia, Layla, Kennedi, Alana, Kai, and Ella) and 3 son in laws (Khalif, Todd, and Monte.) He was the oldest of 8 siblings (Daniel, Patricia, late Dennis, Joan, Rosemary, Richard, and Therese.) He was loved by many nieces and nephews – to know “Uncle Mikey” is to love him. His family meant everything to him.
He served in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in 1973 and later became an electrician. He was as “sharp as a tack” as he would always say. You could call him for any question you may have, and he just knew that he knew the answer to everything. A great man he was.
Relatives and friends are invited to Michael’s visitation on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 10 to 11am at Mannal Funeral Home, 6925 Frankford Ave (at Tyson). His memorial service will follow at 11am. In lieu of flowers contributions in Michael’s name may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Phila, PA 19140

To Hope and The Girls:
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in GOD, believe also in me.
JOHN 14:1
Our household is sorry to hear of the homegoing of your husband and dad.
Should you need anything that we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to call on us. Remember we’re just a stone throw away.
My brother Mikey #1, I’m #6 of the 8 siblings. He took his position to heart. Was available at any given time for any reason. Was stated as the best dad, by His 3 daddy’s girls. He was their go to for everything, their confident, teacher, chef, and 1st person they turn to for advice cause he did know everything. As Rachel said Was the first man she ever loved. He was the voice of reason and followed through making sure his girls were prepared for life. He was their hero and the most doting pop pop to his 8 grandchildren who adored him. Hope was his best friend and his rock. Her love and devotion kept him afloat. He loved her to the moon and back. Hopes parents stood by him and her father Milton Banks set the standards for what a husband, a dad and a grandfather’s place in his family should be. He set the bar high for Mike strived and completed his journey here on earth. His love will lift them with all memories til meet again.
You are my everything. I will continue to make you proud as I love on our precious family we created. I love you always
Oh Mikey my big brother. Eventhough we weren’t a part of eachother’s life, I always had you and your family in my daily prayers and I will continue to do so. I pray that God will hold Hope, Michelle, Elizabeth and Rachel and your grandchildren in “the palm of His hand” bringing them peace and comfort every day.
Mikey, we will see each other again….
To Hope and family;
Mike is a kind soul and good friend. We shared many laughs and adventures together. We will always remember him with a smile and gratitude for the happy times we were blessed to share with him.
Peace and Love be with you in your time of loss.
